Cryo therapy is the use of cooling power, derived from carbon dioxide, to help stimulate the body’s natural healing response. It works by creating an extreme cold source that is concentrated on various parts of the body. Once the cold source is removed, the body is able to rapidly warm the affected area by expanding the blood vessels to a larger diameter than normal. This increase in oxygen rich blood flow is allows the surrounding tissue to be saturated with nutrients, neurotransmitters, and hormones. In conjunction with the influx of good things that are soaking into the tissue, byproducts and waste that is produced by the body, is also being flushed from the area and moved toward the lymphatic system for processing.
